"It was a great time" - After almost 20 years, Managing Director Peter Steigenberger retires
19 years ago, Peter Steigenberger took over the management of Dietzel to put the company back on the road to success after troubled times. "In the last two decades there have been many changes, many positive developments. Nevertheless, the last three years have been particularly formative," says Steigenberger in retrospect, "Covid, the supply chain issue and not to forget Brexit, which was a very special challenge for a company like us, with a strong subsidiary in the UK. And when we thought we were finally back in calm waters, Covid flared up again in China at the end of last year and we had our hands full delivering goods to our customers on time."
Despite the turbulent last few years, Steigenberger is able to hand over to his successor a group that can celebrate its 85th anniversary this year healthy and solvent. "Without our staff, we would not have managed the difficult circumstances so well. Dietzel has a really great team with which the company will successfully continue its growth course and its further path towards sustainability. We are well prepared for the future."
In July, Johannes Pfeil takes over
As of 1 July, Dipl.-Ing. Johannes Pfeil will take over as CEO. The 52-year-old has lived in Vienna for 23 years and has earned his spurs at a company operating in a related industry: thirty years at Wieland – a company in the semi-finished products industry and since 2000 CEO of the Vienna subsidiary that trades in metals, copper tubes and connection technology.. "That was reason enough to once again seek a challenge in a new environment." The mechanical engineering graduate is moving from a 9000-employee group to Dietzel, a traditional Viennese family business with 350 employees worldwide. "I'm looking forward to working at Dietzel with short decision-making processes and great creative freedom."
Pfeil is very positive about the future of the company: "The energy transition only works with electricity. And we ensure that it can flow with our products. As a company, we have many very exciting projects ahead of us and - in line with our product portfolio - I am full of energy for implementation."
